Dark Chocolate Orange Almond Biscotti
60% cacao bittersweet chocolate, whole roasted almonds, real orange zest, and Nielsen-Massey orange extract in a crisp twice-baked biscotti. Dairy-free. Small-batch on Long Island. The flavor that turned The Biscotti Company from two SKUs into three.

This flavor exists because of a cold call. In 2020, The Biscotti Company launched with two products: Almond and Chocolate Almond. Then I called a retail buyer I had never met and got a yes. There was just one catch. They needed three SKUs, not two.
Made without milk or butter.
7.15 oz bag with about 12 biscotti.
Small-batch using our Sicilian family recipe.
Where This Flavor Came From
Oranges, almonds, and chocolate were common in my grandmother’s kitchen, especially around the holidays. But orange zest was never saved just for Christmas. She used orange and lemon zest year-round because they brought real flavor to the dough without relying on anything artificial. They made biscotti taste brighter, fresher, and more alive.
So when the buyer said I needed a third SKU and I only had two days to figure it out, the answer came quickly. Dark Chocolate Orange Almond Biscotti was already there in my head. It was familiar. It made sense. It belonged in the lineup.

Why Orange Works So Well Here
Dark chocolate can be deep, rich, and a little intense. The orange zest and Nielsen-Massey orange extract change that. They lift the chocolate, sharpen the flavor, and keep the whole biscotto from feeling heavy. The almond underneath gives it structure and crunch, so every bite feels balanced.
If you are looking for a chocolate orange biscotti with real depth, this is ours. It is not candy-like and it is not overly sweet. It is clean, crisp, and full of flavor.
What Makes Dark Chocolate Orange Almond Biscotti Special

What It Tastes Like
The first thing you notice is the aroma. The moment you open the bag, you get the smell of orange zest. And as the biscotto comes up to your mouth, that citrus hits you again. The first flavor is a bright burst of orange. Then the crumb comes through and meets the 60% cacao bittersweet chocolate. Add in the whole roasted almonds, and that is the perfect bite. Orange, chocolate, almond. At the very end, the hint of sea salt flakes pulls it all together.
This is what makes this biscotti different. The orange does not sit in the background. It leads the experience, then gives way to the dark chocolate and roasted almond. Nothing is too heavy, nothing gets lost, and the sea salt at the finish makes you want the next biscotto.

Theresa shared that her Italian best friend has tried at least five flavors, but chocolate orange is her favorite. She even saves the crumbs for ice cream.

The Flavor That Completed the Lineup
That one retail conversation helped shape the brand. Without it, this biscotti might still just be a family memory. Instead, it became the third flavor in our lineup and a favorite for customers who love dark chocolate, citrus, and a less-sweet finish.
It still feels true to how my grandmother baked. Real ingredients. Clear flavor. Nothing extra. Just a biscotto that tastes like each part belongs there.
